The Fierce, Brand New Lotus All Electric Hyper SUV Will Start at $138,000 USD

The ongoing transformation of Lotus to a truly global performance car brand has reached its most significant milestone yet. With the introduction of the brand new “Lotus Eletre R” the British automotive company carving out its place in the electric vehicle world. The Eletre takes the heart and soul of the latest Lotus sports car – the Emira – and the revolutionary aero performance of the all-electric Evija hypercar, and reinterprets them as a Hyper-SUV.

The new hyper all-electric SUV features a battery capacity that’s over 100kWh and with power from 600hp all the way up to almost 900hp. In combination with a 726 pound-feet of torque It goes from 0 to 62 mph in less than three seconds and can reach a top speed of 161 mph. The car’s target maximum driving range is c.600 km and a 350kW charger will deliver a 400 km (248 miles) range in just 20 minutes.

The Lotus Eletre R also features the most advanced active aerodynamics package on any production SUV, active air suspension, torque vectoring, an active front grille, LED headlights, and 22-inch wheels. The Eletre represents the reinvention of Lotus and marks the birth of a new icon into the Lotus stable.

The Lotus Eletre line is set to debut in the United Kingdom next summer priced at 120,000 GBP (approximately $138,000 USD).
